The federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount is paid on usable capacity, and it tapers as the system gets bigger. Each IQ Battery 5P adds 5 kWh. The first two earn the full rate and the third nearly all of it. From the fourth, each battery is paid at 60%, and above 28 kWh at 15%.
Enphase comes in 5 kWh steps, so you can match the battery to what you use after dark and add more later. Sydney homes that added a battery between May and August 2026 averaged about 27 kWh.

The certificate price moves; your quote shows the exact figure.
The rebate is fixed on the day your batteries are installed. From 1 January two IQ Battery 5Ps earn about $410 less, and three about $590 less.

The rebate needs rooftop solar, new or existing. Enphase batteries are built to work with Enphase microinverters.
The IQ Battery 5P is made for this. It connects on the AC side with an IQ System Controller 3, and panels and battery show in one Enphase App.
We install panels with Enphase IQ8 microinverters and the batteries together, so every panel works on its own and shade on one doesn’t pull down the rest.
An Enphase battery is usually not the simplest fit here. A Tesla Powerwall 3 or Sigenergy often suits better, and we will tell you which at the site visit.
The FlexPhase version of the IQ Battery 5P is approved for single- and three-phase homes. We agree which circuits it backs up at the site visit.

We don’t publish a package price, because it depends on how many batteries you need, your microinverters, your switchboard and the circuits you want backed up. You get one firm price after a free site assessment, with the federal battery rebate already off: about $2,520 on two IQ Battery 5Ps installed in 2026.
Neither is better for every home. Enphase suits homes that already have Enphase microinverters and want to build up in 5 kWh steps with a 15-year warranty. Powerwall 3 suits homes that want 13.5 kWh and high power in one unit. We install both and recommend one after the site visit.
Yes. The IQ System Controller 3 switches your home to the batteries when the grid goes down. How much it can run depends on how many batteries you have; each one adds 3.84 kVA of continuous power.
If your panels already run on Enphase microinverters, yes, and it is the easiest battery to add. With a string inverter, another battery is usually the better fit.
Enphase covers the IQ Battery 5P for 15 years or 6,000 cycles, whichever comes first, as long as it keeps more than 60% of its capacity. Our workmanship warranty of up to 10 years sits on top.
Enough to cover what you use after dark. We work it out from your electricity bill. Keep in mind the rebate is lower on capacity above 14 kWh, which is just under three batteries.
The federal discount needs the battery to be installed with rooftop solar, either existing or new. If you don’t have solar yet, we install both together.
Enphase lists the IQ Battery 5P as VPP ready. NSW pays a separate incentive for connecting a battery to an approved virtual power plant. It suits some households and not others; our NSW battery rebate guide explains the trade-off.
