Sydney Air & Solar is a family-owned business established in 2000. We provide residential EV charging solutions across Sydney, backed by experience in electrical work, solar systems and renewable energy.
Our team helps EV owners find the right charger, understand the installation cost and get their charging station installed safely at home.
Sydney Air & Solar was founded by a licensed electrician with a strong focus on safety, longevity and quality workmanship. We bring decades of experience across electrical, solar and renewable energy services.
Your installation is completed by licensed electricians and tested before handover. Sydney Air & Solar is also a NETCC Approved Seller, committed to raising standards in the renewable energy sector.
From the first consultation to the final handover, we provide a clear installation service tailored to your home, switchboard, vehicle and charging needs.
Our approach is based on honesty, practical advice and quality workmanship. We explain your options clearly so you can select the right unit without pressure.
Ideal for homes where the switchboard is close to the garage, driveway or charger location.
A standard installation for homes where the charging point is further away from the switchboard.
For homes with three phase power and a charger location close to the main switchboard.
A three phase installation for longer cable runs from the switchboard to the charger location.
Single-phase power is the standard supply in most homes. A 7kW home charger can add roughly 40km of range per hour, which is enough for many drivers to charge overnight and start the next day with a full battery.
Three-phase power is available in some homes, newer builds and upgraded properties. A 22kW unit can add roughly 120km of range per hour where the vehicle and electrical supply support it. This can suit higher-kilometre drivers, households with multiple EVs or anyone who wants faster charging at home.
Not sure what your property has? Send us a photo of your switchboard and we can help you understand what type of installation is possible.
The distance from your switchboard to the charger location affects both the installation cost and the time required on site. A short, direct cable run through a garage wall is usually straightforward. A longer route through ceilings, across driveways or to a detached carport may need more cable, conduit and labour.
We assess the cable route on site or from your photos before providing a quote.

We’ve used Aleks and team at two different homes and have referred him to many friends, family and neighbours. Prompt, efficient, safe and tidy. The team are lovely and Aleks goes above and beyond to help clients. Great company!
We engaged Alex and the team to replace a failed ducted aircon, and took the opportunity to install solar at the same time.

You can purchase an EV charger on its own if you already have a trusted installer, or you can speak with Sydney Air & Solar about supply and installation. We can help you choose the right unit for your vehicle, charging speed expectations, switchboard capacity and parking location.
Adding a dedicated charger at home is simple with the right team. We guide you from selecting the right unit through to testing, commissioning and handover.
Answer a few quick questions about your home and electric vehicle. Send photos of your switchboard, parking area and desired install location so we can assess the installation requirements.
Our electricians review your setup and recommend a suitable EV charging solution. We provide a no-obligation quote with the information you need to make an informed decision.
Once you choose the right unit, we schedule a convenient date and time. Our team installs EV chargers across Sydney homes, including garages, carports, driveways and other suitable locations.
After installing the EV charging equipment, we test the system to confirm it is safe for daily use and completed in line with relevant electrical requirements, including AS/NZS 3000 wiring rules.
We also show you how to use the charger, connect the app where applicable and understand the main charging settings.
Plug in before bed and take advantage of cheaper overnight rates. We can set your charger to start automatically when electricity is cheapest.
Wi-Fi enabled chargers let you control charging from your phone. We help you connect and configure the app as part of the handover.
If you have panels, charge during the day from your own solar generation. We install solar-aware chargers that know when your roof is producing excess power.
A dedicated circuit protects your home from overload. Every installation includes proper circuit protection and testing by a licensed electrician.
Mount your charger close to where you park and within easy reach of your switchboard. We assess cable runs and wall conditions before we quote.
Thinking about a second EV or a battery later? We can spec your circuit and cabling to handle tomorrow’s needs, not just today’s.
You can, but it is slow and not designed for regular daily charging. A standard 240V outlet adds roughly 10km of range per hour and can take 24–48 hours for a full charge.
A dedicated 7kW home charger is roughly 5–7 times faster, safer for your home’s wiring and better suited to charging your EV at home every day.
Yes. In Australia, this type of electrical work must be done by a licensed electrician. The work can involve a dedicated circuit, switchboard work and compliance with AS/NZS 3000 wiring rules.
DIY installation is not legal, may affect insurance and can create serious safety risks.
A standard installation usually takes 2–4 hours. We turn off power where required, complete the electrical work, test everything before we leave and show you how to use the charger.
Most homeowners are ready to start charging the same day.
Yes. Outdoor wall-mounted chargers are common for homes without a garage or where the driveway is the main parking area.
We use weather-rated equipment where suitable and assess sun exposure, drainage, access and cable containment before recommending the best location.
We check your switchboard capacity as part of the assessment. If it cannot handle the additional load, we include the required upgrade in your quote before the work begins.
We explain what is needed and why, so you can decide before proceeding.
Renters need written landlord approval. Apartment owners usually need strata approval.
We have experience with strata applications and can provide technical documentation where required. Every building is different, so we assess what is possible before recommending a solution.
Most home chargers use a Type 2 socket, which has been the Australian standard since 2020. This means the same charger can work with Tesla, BYD, MG, Hyundai, Kia, BMW and many other brands.
We can confirm compatibility with your current vehicle and likely future vehicles during the quote.
Both. You can buy your own unit, such as a Tesla Wall Connector, Zappi or another suitable brand, and we can install it.
Alternatively, we can supply and install a charger matched to your home, vehicle and charging needs. We recommend what works for your setup rather than pushing one specific brand.
