How Much Money Can I Expect To Save?

There are many variables to consider when calculating your savings by switching to solar so lets simplify it with what’s considered an average sized system for an average Australian household.

Up until only a couple of years ago a 6.6kw system was considered the average but since COVID -19 that average just doesn’t cut it anymore as we tend to spend more hours at home during the day, like working for home. The new average is up around 8kw. An 8kw system will produce around 32kwh a day- this of course will be higher in summer and lower in winter.

This size system will save you on average approx. $800 every qtr.. If you buy a good quality system you’d be paying around $10,000 so your payback period will be about 3.5years. As mentioned above, there are a lot of variables to consider such as how much power are you actually using? You’ll only SAVE money if you USE the power you are generating not buying it from the grid. If you are buying it from the grid your savings drop therefore your payback period gets extended.
