Multi Split Systems

Multi Split Systems are a great way to save space in your outdoor areas or on balconies.

What is a Multi-Split Air Conditioning System?

Unlike a single Split System Air Conditioning unit that can only run one indoor unit per outdoor unit, the Multi- Split Air Conditioning System can run several indoor units at once using only one low capacity outdoor unit.

This feature allows each indoor unit to be operated individually, whilst still being powered by only the one outdoor unit.

For example: 0you can control on/off, temperature, air movement and time clock operations individual to suit specific needs per room.

A Multi Split has the ability to have as little as one head unit running at a time. When required, you can switch on all the heads fitted, usually up to 4. The main disadvantage may be that the power is shared if all of the units are turned on. With the right questions and advice, we can accurately size the system for you.

Why should I choose a Multi-Split Air Conditioning System?

The Multi-Split Air Conditioning System design is a great solution for households that require temperature control in multiple rooms and would like the freedom to operate them individually according to each users specific needs.

The ability to run several indoor units via only one outdoor unit makes this a very energy efficient and economical option. One outdoor unit can be connected to a wide variety of indoor units including, wall mounted, consoles, cassette and some ducted units.

In buildings where space is minimal and less units are desired, Multi Splits require the least amount of outdoor space. Terraces, apartments and units are all very suited to Multi Split systems for this reason. With the right louvre system, they can be nicely disguised in courtyards for invisible operation.

2
How long will it take to install?

The amount of time it takes to install a Multi-Split Air Conditioning System will depend on the size of your home and the system we are installing. Typically for an average size home we can install a Multi-Split Air Conditioning system unit in a day. However this may vary depending on the layout of your home and the size of the system.

3
What is the difference between a split system and multi split system?

A split system will have one indoor unit and a corresponding outdoor unit.  A multi split system has multiple indoor units and a single outdoor unit. Multi split systems are preferable where there is limited space to fit outdoor units or to minimise the amount of outdoor units that will be visible.

How much does it cost to repair?

This is a tricky question we get quite often. An air conditioning system is a complex machine that houses  specialised components designed to provide different functions all at the same time. A professional technician is required to be able to diagnose a problem. More often than not a problem can be diagnosed within the first 30mins of a service call and can be rectified on the same day or within 24-48hrs depending on the part or materials that may be required.

You can reduce the chance of a breakdown by ensuring you maintain regular annual services. During these annual services, a professional technician will be able to foresee a potential problem and advise a preventative measure on the spot.
